MALUHIA AT WAILEA STARTS CONSTRUCTION OF THREE NEW HOMES

New Residences Offer Three Unique Experiences

WAILEA, MAUI (April 8, 2004) – Construction of three new homes at Maluhia at Wailea has begun with two completed and ready for occupancy by Fall 2004 and the third by Spring 2005. Hale Mohalu and Hale Laukaha are currently available for sale at the asking price of $8.2 million, fully furnished. Hale Lani, which had been listed at $17 million, furnished, has now been sold.

Maluhia at Wailea is a gated 10.5-acre single-family home condominium project on beautiful Mokapu Beach in Maui’s luxury Wailea resort. This community is the only enclave of single-family homes on the ocean in Wailea and consists of 14 custom-designed residences and a private beach club with full time resident concierge.

“A remarkable synergy has enabled all entities involved in the creation of the homes of Maluhia at Wailea to produce timeless works of art, each unique and distinctive from the other,” said Rob Harte, managing principal of developer, Chicago-based PRM Realty Group, LLC.

The design team for Maluhia at Wailea includes developer PRM Realty, architects Group 70 International, landscape architects Walters Kimura Motoda, and procurement specialists Crisscross, LLC. Interior design is handled by Larry Frej, executive vice president of PRM Realty and Sheryl Seaman, vice chairman of Group 70 International. Adding to the overall impression of each home and the entire Maluhia community are water features designed by Groark, Inc.

Each home’s design is truly one of a kind and specifically conceptualized for the lot on which it sits. Hale Mohalu on Site 3, is 6,794 square feet situated on approximately a half-acre with sweeping Pacific views. Both the architecture and interior design of Hale Mohalu reflect a contemporary approach to traditional Japanese minimalist concepts of form and function. Unique hard woods chosen exclusively for Hale Mohalu for use in cabinetry, trim details and custom built-in furniture impart a simple, understated sensibility.

Architecturally, the home design centers around an engawa, or traditional Japanese interior courtyard with a graceful water feature. A collection of mid- 20th century abstract Japanese prints and sculptures, and contemporary light sculptures complete the home’s unassuming but elegant style. Hale Mohalu has three full master suites, a guest suite, a large functional back yard and large open lanais for true indoor/outdoor living.

Hale Luakaha, on Site 6, also on a half acre, is 6,796 square feet and features a traditional Hawaiian architectural pavilion design with a floating staircase. Defining Hale Luakaha, are its wood and stone carving details along with an abundance of glass doors and windows that reveal Maui’s tropical paradise. According to Larry Frej, who is both project manager and interior designer, the interior art can be best described as “African to Eskimo” with a collection of ethnographic and tribal art from South East Asia, New Guinea, North America and Africa along with custom carpets hand-woven in Tibet. There are four large bedroom suites and the second floor master suite has an extra room, perfect as a study, gym or nursery.

The house on Site 10, Hale Lani, at 8,000 square feet in a single story, makes dramatic use of its one-acre beachfront lot. The central theme for this home is water – from the water feature at the entry, to the reflecting pool in the interior courtyard, to the expansive pool and spa. There are two large master and three guest suites, two outdoor showers, and living areas which flow onto large lanais – all designed for gracious oceanfront living.
